Note: This feature is available only to users with administrative permissions.
Delete a location only when it will never be used again, and when there is no reason to preserve a record of it or its associated data. (Example: After a location was added to the location tree by mistake.) Deleting a location permanently deletes the location and its sub-locations, leaving no record that those products were ever used/stored at those locations.
If the location has simply fallen out of use or become otherwise obsolete, it is recommended that you set it inactive instead of deleting it. Setting a location inactive removes it and its sub-locations from active use (example: users cannot assign products to or search inactive locations), but retains a record of these locations and products' historical assignments to them.
Note: If a location (or any of its sub-locations) has any assigned products or associated product requests, you cannot delete the location. You can set the location inactive.
To delete a location:
Starting at the Location Tree page
Find and select the location you want to set delete. (If a location shows a plus (+) next to its name, you can click its name to open its immediate sub-locations.)
In the box on the left, click Delete.
A message indicates what will happen when the location is deleted.
To confirm the operation, click Delete.
The location and all of its sub-locations are deleted and removed from the location tree.
